Additionally, 46 Micro Observers will be deployed to cover all critical polling station locations, the CEO added.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ensured ‘foolproof’ security arrangements for the bye-election in the border-sensitive Tarn Taran district, scheduled to be held on November 11, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., according to an official press release.
The ECI has also finalized the deployment plan for security personnel in consultation with the Observers deployed by the Commission.
Accordingly, 12 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed in the Assembly Constituency — one of the largest CAPF deployments ever made by the ECI in any bye-election — Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Sibin C, said.
The CEO further stated that, as per the deployment plan, all 114 polling station locations, covering 222 polling stations in total, will be secured by CAPF personnel.
All polling stations will be equipped with CCTV cameras and webcasting facilities, which will be closely monitored at the levels of the Returning Officer (RO), District Election Officer (DEO), and CEO, under the overall supervision of the ECI.
Additionally, 46 Micro Observers will be deployed to cover all critical polling station locations, the CEO added.
The CEO also issued a stern warning that any violations of election rules will be dealt with strictly by the election machinery.
He further urged all voters of the Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency to come forward and exercise their franchise freely and fearlessly during the polling on November 11, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
