Nitish pays tributes to Lohia on his death anniversary

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today paid tributes to veteran socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia on the occasion of his 50th death anniversary.

Kumar garlanded a statue of Lohia and artistes sang bhajans at a function in Kankarbagh area of the state capital. The chief minister had said on many occasions in the past that he followed Lohia's ideals. He had also quoted Lohia during his campaigns for social causes.   

Road Construction Department Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Education Minister Krishnandan Varma, MLAs Shyam Rajak and Arun Sinha were also present there on the occasion.

Born on March 23, 1910, Lohia was a freedom fighter and one of the founders of the Congress Socialist Party. PTI
