Honeypreet who was absconding for the past 36 days has finally come out in front of media. Honeypreet was booked for inciting violence in parts of Haryana and Punjab and Delhi after Ram Rahim was convicted for raping two women followers in 2002.

Honeypreet has said that she will surrender to a court in Panchkula later in the day. Honeypreet Insan said she had not surrendered in court because she did not have her father’s permission to do so.

She dismissed speculation that she had incited the riots in Haryana following the religious leader’s conviction in two rape cases against him. She said all allegations levelled against her were baseless. She alleged that she was being shown in bad light by the media and others. She alleged that the government had wrongly implicated her in a sedition case.

Honeypreet Insan also dismissed speculation of a relationship with the Dera Sacha Sauda chief. “I do not understand how can someone question the holy relationship of a father and daughter,” she said.

“My main concern was the way the media projected me. How can they malign a father and daughter’s relationship?”

She also claimed Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was innocent. Honeypreet was last seen with the Dera chief outside the court and in a chopper, arranged to take Ram Rahim to Rohtak jail.

She had appealed to the court that she might be granted permission to stay in the lock-up with the Dera chief as a helper, which was turned down.
