Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Latest News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the village of Mahima Singh Wala in Ludhiana on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, where a felicitation ceremony was organized to celebrate the revival of bullock cart races.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the traditional games of Kila Raipur have been taking place since 1933, and therefore, “Who are we to stop them?” He emphasized that his government is the first to preserve heritage and buy private institutions, while previous governments used to show public institutions as loss-making and sell them off.
The Chief Minister remarked that anyone who has seen bullock cart races on black-and-white television can understand the joy of their return. Taking a dig at drug-related activities, he said that those who build palaces with money earned through drugs and then destroy them like termites will not be spared.
He added that such people are now being caught, and when action is taken, some individuals stand in their support. Sarcastically, the Chief Minister said, “We are insects and animals; they are the real humans.”
On this occasion, Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian said that now, under traditional games, dog and pigeon competitions will also be allowed, but there will be no place for drugs in these events. He warned the associated organizations to monitor such activities themselves and ensure that nothing related to drugs is promoted during these gatherings.
