Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir), June 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday met the families of civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured the victims' families of government jobs and financial assistance to those seeking to start their own businesses.
“I know you have been waiting for justice for many years. Today, I want to tell you that your wait is over,” Sinha said. “Family members of terrorism victims who are entitled to government jobs should submit their cases to the concerned District Commissioner. The appointment process will be completed within 30 days. Those wishing to start their own businesses will be provided financial aid by the Government of India,” he added.
One terror victim, who was just four months old when his father and brother were killed by militants, shared his ordeal: “They captured our land and set our house on fire. We are very thankful to you for coming here and listening to us.”
Later, the Lieutenant Governor visited the Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam to review preparations for the Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 3. He also inspected medical and logistical facilities at the Chandanwari Base Camp to ensure smooth and safe arrangements for the pilgrims.
