May 28, 2025: In a dramatic turn of events, Rachel Gupta, who was crowned Miss Grand International 2024, has officially stepped down from her title, citing a toxic environment and mistreatment. Shortly after her public announcement, the Miss Grand International (MGI) Organization issued a statement revoking her title, accusing her of failing to fulfill contractual obligations.

In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Gupta expressed deep regret over her decision, stating, “Being crowned was one of the most cherished dreams of my life… However, the months following my crowning have been marked by broken promises, mistreatment, and a toxic environment I can no longer endure in silence.”

She added that the decision was not made lightly and promised to release a full video soon, revealing the details behind her resignation. “The truth will come out very soon,” Gupta wrote, thanking her global supporters and asking for continued compassion.

However, the MGI Organization presented a different narrative. In an official notice, they announced the immediate termination of Gupta’s title, citing her “failure to fulfill assigned duties,” participation in “external projects without prior approval,” and refusal to attend a scheduled trip to Guatemala.

“The organization has resolved to revoke her title with immediate effect,” the statement read. “Miss Rachel Gupta is no longer authorized to use the title or wear the crown associated with Miss Grand International 2024.”

The organization has also requested the return of the crown within 30 days.
