The hearing of the Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi's Saket court

New Delhi: The hearing of the Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi's Saket court has been adjourned till May 9. Charges were to be filed against Aftab Poonawalla in this case on Saturday, but it was postponed as the judge was on leave. Now on May 9, the judge will determine the charges. On April 14, the court had reserved orders on the charges.

The Delhi Police had to file a reply on Shraddha's father Vikas's request to hand over the dead body of the daughter. Vikas appeals to the court and asks that Shraddha's body be handed over to him, so that he can perform the last rites of his daughter. To this, Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad had said that the Delhi Police would file a reply to Shraddha's father's application 'on the next date of hearing'.

Notably, Vikas had said that Shraddha's last rites will not be done until she gets justice. He had said in March 2023 that my daughter's murder would complete one year in May but I have not yet cremated her. I will perform Shraddha's last rites only after Aftab gets the death sentence.

Vikas had told that his daughter's body parts will be handed over to him after the case is over, but when the trial will end and when will I be able to perform the last rites of my daughter, it is still a question.
