Spokesman News Service, New Delhi (28th Oct'18): The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSMGC) will organise a two day-long free career guidance fair 2018(Education Langar) for Students on 2nd and 3 rd November next at the Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall in the Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib New Delhi .

The objective is to connect punjabi youths with all possible job opportunities in new-age career programmes in Digital Marketing, Data Analytics, IT, banking and Finance & Accounting and Business Analytics. etc in a transparent and effective manner through the use of technology and counselling as well as training said Manjit Singh G.K.President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today.

This is largest annual career counselling fair organised for Sikh Youths at centrally located air condition halls in 40,000 sq feet under one roof in national capital new delhi. About 100 premier education institute from India and Abroad like US education USIEF( U.S.Embassy) ,British Council, Campus France under french embassy ,IGNOU,State Bank of India , Axis Bank ,Ministry of Minorities Affairs ,Amity University,Ansal University ,SGT university , Lovely University and colleges affiliated to Delhi University have partnered with the event this year for the purpose of identifying the courses corresponding to the job roles in demand, designing the course curriculum and skill assessments while 85 education institute and universities and more than 12000 students had participated in fair held last year.

This is the seventh such fair being organized by DSGMC in a row in which Around 20,000 students are likely to attend the fair to find a career best suited for them based on their aspirations and aptitude and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee volunteers will provide complimentary meal for all visiting students and their parents said Manjit Singh G.K.President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today.

A dedicated team of expert professionals like Dr Gurpreet Singh DU, Dr Sarabjit Singh PAU Ludhiana and Sardar Kulvinder Singh will extend services to the younger generation in finding jobs in both national and international job markets through various govt agencies and corporate houses while DSGMC will act as as ‘Inspiring Mentor’ to these students DSGMC has tied up with reputed Indian and foreign universities , corporate, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), industrial bodies and skilling centres to participate in the fair to help Sikh Students identify and explore various career options for them.

This fair will be organised between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for students of the schools , colleges and universities and the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Human Resources Development etc., will set up their exhibition stalls to guide students about the emerging trends in the job market and how to get admissions to education institutes affiliated with them. He said that the fair will bridge the gap between the training institute and the industry as the youth will be able to get first-hand information about the emerging trends in the job market.

Each student or applicant will be assessed according to their aptitude, interest and capability. The parents and students, particularly those belonging to the minority communities, will also be educated about soft loan opportunities available to them from various central government institutions and other organizations on lower interests rates for various academic courses.

Presently, approximately 4 5,000 sikh students are enrolled in CBSE-affiliated chain of Guru Harkrishan Public Schools, aided schools , four sikh colleges affiliated to Delhi University and other institutions of higher education, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Inderprastha University.

The problem of choosing a suitable career is more acute in India as the concept of career counselling is still not very commonly accepted. Parents even now force their kids to pick their future only from three or four conventional options including engineering, medical, and MBA.
