People in the national capital woke up to a cool morning today, with the minimum temperature settling at 25.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal. Light to moderate rainfall is expected to hit different parts of the country, the Meteorological (MeT) department said today.  The Safdarjung observatory, the recording of which is considered the official figure for the city, registered 2.5 mm of rainfall between 5.30 pm yesterday and 8.30 am today, while the Palam observatory recorded 2 mm of precipitation during the same period.

The Lodhi Road observatory received 2.4 mm of rains and the ridge area recorded 2 mm, a MeT department official said. The maximum temperature settled at 28.2 degrees Celsius, six notches below the season's average, the official said. Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 28.3 and 25.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
