The announcement, made by Chief Secretary Dr. Vivek Joshi, also includes a selection of special days and restricted holidays, ensuring a balanced calendar for employees across the state.

Haryana Government Key Public Holiday Schedule List 2025:

The notification confirms that all Saturdays and Sundays will be observed as holidays throughout the year. Notable public holidays for 2025 include:

  • Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Jayanti: January 6

  • Guru Ravidas Jayanti: February 12
  • Maha Shivratri: February 26
  • Holi: March 14
  • Independence Day: August 15
  • Diwali: October 20
  • Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti: November 5
  • Christmas: December 25

While these dates ensure state-wide closures, certain festivals like Republic Day (January 26) and Janmashtami (August 16), which fall on already closed days, are excluded from the holiday list.

Haryana Government Special Day Schedule List for 2025: 

The state government has designated several days as "Special Days" to honor key historical and cultural figures, though they will not be public holidays. These include:

  • Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jayanti: April 11
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti: October 31

Haryana Negotiable Instrument Act Holidays List for 2025: 

Under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, of 1881, the government has declared holidays applicable across all sectors except judicial courts. Key dates include:

  • Annual Bank Closing Day: April 1
  • Diwali: October 20

Haryana Restricted Holidays List for 2025: 

Employees are allowed to choose up to three holidays from a list of Restricted Holidays, which includes:

  • Good Friday: April 18
  • Hariyali Teej: July 27
  • Karva Chauth: October 10
  • Chhath Puja: October 28
