Meanwhile, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reached the residence of his father, Farooq Abdullah, this morning.
An assassination attempt was made on JKNC chief Farooq Abdullah during a wedding in Jammu yesterday. Congress MP Pramod Tiwari is holding the Centre responsible for the attack, saying the law and order of the Union Territory is directly under the Centre and the Lieutenant Governor (LG).
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari, speaking to ANI on the matter, said, "In Kashmir, which is a UT, the law and order is directly under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the LG there. The Govt of India is directly responsible."

SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav also raised concerns over the security situation, saying the LG holds the powers in the Union Territory.
"This is a very tragic incident. Farooq Abdullah is a respectable man. He has never even given a statement that would offend anyone. Despite that, to fire at him. This proves that what the government keeps saying every day that restrictions have been placed on extremistsis not true at all. The situation in Kashmir is not good,” he said.
“The Chief Minister there has no power in his hands; whatever power there is, it's in the hands of the LG..." he added.
The assassination attempt was made by a man named Kamal Singh during a marriage function at Royal Park, Greater Kailash, Jammu, yesterday and police have arrived at his residence today.
Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat told ANI, “There has definitely been a security lapse, as someone was able to get so close,” adding that the person involved should undergo a mental examination.
“Security agencies should conduct a point-by-point review to ensure that such an incident does not recur,” he added.
