In a major breakthrough, security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives from Sahowal village near the India-Pakistan border. The operation was carried out jointly by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police.
The recovered materials include 4.5 kilograms of RDX, five hand grenades, five pistols, eight magazines, 220 rounds of ammunition, two batteries, and a remote control device. The cache was discovered during the harvesting of crops, when a suspicious packet was found in an agricultural field.
According to sources, this recovery is being seen as part of another foiled attempt by Pakistani smugglers to destabilize the region. Preliminary investigations suggest that the ammunition may have been dropped across the border through drones or other covert methods.
A massive search operation is currently underway in and around the area to rule out the presence of any additional material or suspects. Officials confirmed that the timely detection has helped avert a possible terrorist plot.
Security has been heightened across the border belt as investigations continue.
