Senior Officer Of Bangladesh Police Arrested For Infiltration in West Bengal Latest News: Judge Debashish Banerjee of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's court at Basirhat, West Bengal on Sunday, sent a senior Officer of Bangladesh Police to 14-day judicial custody, ANI reported.
The Border Security Force on Saturday evening arrested by the Border Security Force on Saturday evening for allegedly attempting to infiltrate into Indian Territory in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, after BSF personnel on routine patrol noticed suspicious movement.
The identity of the officer has not been disclosed yet. According to an ABP news report, the officer in question was intercepted near the Hakimpur Border Outpost between 6 and 7 pm.
“On searching him, identity documents were recovered, establishing that the individual was a serving officer of the Bangladesh Police,” a senior official told ANI on condition of anonymity earlier.
After the detention, the officer was handed over to the West Bengal Police for detailed questioning.
Investigation into the matter is underway.
