In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi stated, “Spoke with President of Iran @drpezeshkian. We discussed in detail the current situation. Expressed deep concern at the recent escalations. Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy as the way forward, and for early restoration of regional peace, security, and stability.”

According to ANI, it was Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian who initiated a phone call to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the evolving regional situation. The conversation lasted for approximately 45 minutes.

President Pezeshkian described India as a friend and a key partner in promoting regional peace, security, and stability. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for India’s consistent call for de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy, stating that India’s voice and role are vital in restoring peace and stability in the region.

The U.S. military launched strikes early Sunday (IST) targeting three major Iranian nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
U.S. President Donald J. Trump praised the operation, calling it a “very successful attack,” and issued a stark warning to Iran, “There is no other military in the world that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

“ANY RETALIATION BY IRAN AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE MET WITH FORCE FAR GREATER THAN WHAT WAS WITNESSED TONIGHT. THANK YOU! — DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES”

Trump has consistently stated that “IRAN CANNOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!”

In response, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization confirmed that its nuclear sites were “subjected to savage aggression,” and described the strikes as a violation of international law. However, it assured Iranian citizens that the nuclear program would not be derailed.

“Despite the malicious plots of its enemies… this national industry — built on the blood of nuclear martyrs — will not be halted,” Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization statement issued Monday read.

With the situation rapidly evolving, foreign policy experts are raising alarms that the U.S. involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict could trigger a broader regional war — and potentially escalate toward a World War III–like scenario.
