The Indian Embassy in Tehran confirmed that this move was made in response to requests from the governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka, demonstrating regional solidarity amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
So far, 517 Indian nationals have safely returned under Operation Sindhu. On Saturday at 3:00 AM, a special evacuation flight from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, arrived in New Delhi, marking another successful leg of the mission.
The embassy has urged Nepali and Sri Lankan nationals in Iran to contact it immediately via its emergency contact numbers (+98 9010144557, +98 9128109115, +98 9128109109) or through its dedicated Telegram channel, as more evacuation operations are expected in the coming days.
