Another Notice Issued to Diljit Dosanjh Ahead of Mumbai Concert

Fans of the singer are divided, with some supporting the commission’s directives and others defending artistic freedom.

Diljit Dosanjh Mumbai Concert Latest News Today: The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued a notice to popular Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh and his management, instructing them to refrain from using children on stage during performances in any capacity. The notice also emphasizes that songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence should not be performed.

The commission cited an order by the Punjab and Haryana High Court dated July 22, 2019, which addresses similar concerns about public performances and their potential influence on children.

Complaint and Prior Action

The notice comes in response to a complaint filed by Panditrao Dharenwar, who raised concerns about the use of children in stage performances and the content of some of Diljit’s songs. The complaint alleged that such acts could negatively impact young minds.

A day earlier, the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Mumbai, had also issued a notice to Diljit Dosanjh’s management, warning against allowing any promotions of substances like alcohol and gutka during his live shows.

Key Directives in the Notice

  • Prohibition on involving children in live stage performances in any form.
  • Ban on songs or acts that promote alcohol, drugs, gutka, or violence.
  • Compliance with child protection laws and court orders during public events.

Industry and Public Reaction

While Diljit Dosanjh and his team have yet to respond to the notice, the development has sparked discussions in the entertainment industry about the role of artists in promoting responsible content. Fans of the singer are divided, with some supporting the commission’s directives and others defending artistic freedom.
