Kolkata: West Bengal minister Jakir Hossain, who was seriously injured in a bomb blast, is stable now, an official of the state-run hospital where he is undergoing treatment said on Friday.
Hossain, the minister of state for labour, was injured after unidentified attackers hurled a crude bomb at him at Nimtita railway station in Murshidabad district on Wednesday night.
Jakir Hossain "He is stable at the moment and is responding to the treatment. He suffered multiple injuries and underwent surgeries on Thursday. Our senior doctors are monitoring his health condition," the official said.
The Trinamool Congress MLA of Jangipur was brought to the SSKM Hospital here on Thursday morning and admitted to the Trauma Care Unit.

The health condition of 13 others, who were also injured in the bomb blast and admitted to the hospital, are also stable, the official said.
The Criminal Investigation Department of West Bengal and a special task force are probing into the incident.
