PM Modi Arrives in Croatia on Final Leg of Three-Nation Tour
PM Modi latest news: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Zagreb, Croatia, on Wednesday, marking the final leg of his three-nation tour after concluding his visit to Kananaskis, Canada, where he participated in the 51st G7 Summit.
This is the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral discussions with his Croatian counterpart and meet the President of Croatia. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the visit underscores India’s commitment to further strengthening its engagement with partners in the European Union.
Prime Minister Modi’s three-nation tour began on June 15 with an official visit to Cyprus, an island nation in the Mediterranean Sea.
During the G7 Summit in Canada, Prime Minister Modi interacted with several world leaders. On June 17, he held discussions with leaders from the Global South and emphasized the importance of raising voices on global issues that matter to developing nations.
Responding to a post on X, Prime Minister Modi wrote:
“Outstanding conversations with two dear friends. We are unwavering in our commitment to speaking about issues that matter to the Global South. We are equally determined to do whatever it takes to build a better tomorrow for the coming generations!”
He also had what he described as a “fruitful discussion” with the leadership of the European Commission and the European Council. In posts on X, he shared,“Fruitful discussion with President of the EU_Commission.”
“Productive conversation with President of the European Council eucopresident.”
Prime Minister Modi also interacted with the Prime Minister of Japan, describing the exchange as:
“Insightful deliberations during the G7 Summit in Canada. India and Japan remain committed to further deepening bilateral ties across various sectors.”
On the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Modi met with his counterparts from Italy and France. In a post, he wrote,“It’s always a delight to interact and exchange perspectives on a wide range of issues. India and France will keep working closely for the betterment of our planet.”
Other key meetings included discussions with leaders from Canada, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Sharing his thoughts on one such interaction, PM Modi posted, “An exceptional conversation! India-UK ties are getting stronger, reflecting the progress we’ve made in areas like trade and commerce. We will keep working together to add even more momentum to this wonderful friendship.”
