“The ceasefire indicates that Pakistan is under observation," said Rajnath Singh.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday emphasized that the ongoing ceasefire with Pakistan effectively places the neighboring country on probation, warning of severe consequences if hostilities resume.
Speaking at the Indian Air Force base in Bhuj, Gujarat, Singh noted that Operation Sindoor remains active, asserting that Indian forces have not only "dominated" the adversary but have also "decimated" its capabilities.
“The ceasefire indicates that Pakistan is under observation. If its conduct improves, it will be acknowledged—but any provocation will invite the harshest response,” Singh said. He stressed that the fight against terrorism is now embedded in India’s national defence strategy, declaring, “We will eliminate this hybrid and proxy warfare.”
Accompanied by Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, the Defence Minister addressed Air Force personnel with a display of Pechora air defence systems and Jaguar fighter aircraft in the background. He commended the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its crucial role in recent operations.
“It is a significant achievement that our Air Force has demonstrated reach to every corner of Pakistan. This has been unequivocally proven,” he stated.
Referring to recent military actions, Singh said, “India’s fighter jets have shown they can strike targets deep inside Pakistan without crossing the border. The destruction of nine terrorist bases and subsequent damage to several airbases on Pakistani soil are evidence of this capability.”
He added that Operation Sindoor highlighted not only the bravery of IAF personnel but also a shift in India’s defence doctrine and technological prowess. “You have shown the world what a new India stands for—one with evolved strategy and advanced military technology,” Singh remarked.
Singh also emphasized India's growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing. “India is no longer solely dependent on foreign weapons. Domestically developed arms and platforms are now a key part of our defence forces,” he said, adding that the performance of indigenous weapons has demonstrated their effectiveness on the global stage.
“The world has witnessed that Indian-made weapons are both reliable and formidable,” Singh concluded.
