IMD issued cold wave warnings for several northern and central regions, predicting severe weather conditions in the coming days.

Srinagar Weather Update: The Kashmir Valley is reeling under freezing temperatures, with Srinagar recording a bone-chilling -3 degrees Celsius, marking the spread of a cold wave across North India and disrupting daily life.

Tourists visiting Srinagar were greeted by icy conditions but embraced the cold for its picturesque charm. Adil, a photographer from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, visiting for a pre-wedding shoot, remarked, "The weather is colder than we expected but ideal for photography. For someone from Rajasthan, this experience is completely different."

Adil, on his fourth trip to the region, encouraged others to visit during both winter and summer to witness the contrasting beauty of Kashmir. Lalit, another tourist from Rajasthan, added, "Dal Lake is breathtaking, and a Shikara ride is a must for anyone visiting this paradise."

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a partly cloudy sky in Srinagar, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 10°C and -2°C, respectively. Residents and tourists alike are donning heavy winter apparel and relying on heating methods to combat the biting cold.

The winter chill is also being felt in Himachal Pradesh, where Shimla is blanketed in snow, offering a magical winter experience. The scenic heights of Lahaul and Spiti received fresh snowfall, adding to the region's allure. Similarly, the Machil sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district also witnessed a new layer of snow over the weekend.

The IMD has issued cold wave warnings for several northern and central regions, predicting severe weather conditions in the coming days. Areas such as Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad are expected to face cold wave conditions on December 11.

Warnings extend to Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and West Uttar Pradesh, with conditions forecasted to persist until mid-December. The cold wave is expected to tighten its grip on West Uttar Pradesh until December 13.

The combination of snow-clad landscapes and icy winds is creating an atmosphere of solitude and serenity, drawing tourists but also posing challenges for residents in these regions.
