Maharashtra won the 'Best Agriculture State Award 2024': Agriculture is the backbone of India that assists in feeding the millions of people in the country. Be it Punjab, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh or Madhya Pradesh, farmers from across the country give valuable contributions to the country.
Therefore, it becomes necessary to felicitate these farmers and even the state that contributes more. In the meanwhile, Maharashtra has won the Best Agriculture State Award 2024.
The announcement was made by the 15th Agriculture Leadership Awards Committee headed by Justice P Sathasivam, former Chief Justice of India and Governor of Kerala.
Notably, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde received the award at a ceremony in New Delhi on July 10, 2024.
Maharashtra has been selected for this award for its innovative agriculture and rural initiatives. The award is given to the government of Maharashtra for innovative policies and development of agriculture. This helps to increase agriculture and rural prosperity in the state where the policies focus on environmental protection and food security.
It may be recalled that the Maharashtra government had recently launched the country's largest bamboo mission in 21 lakh hectares.
