According to an army spokesperson, a total of 910 students have already been safely evacuated, and efforts are underway to evacuate the remaining individuals promptly. The university administration has officially announced the closure of the institute until July 6, 2023.

The flooding incident has underscored the urgent need for measures to address the infrastructure vulnerabilities and mitigate the impact of heavy rainfall. Chitkara University, along with local authorities, will likely focus on implementing necessary steps to prevent such incidents in the future and ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff members.
