11 get life sentence in Bihar in 18-year-old murder case

Jehanabad (Bihar): A court here today awarded life imprisonment to 11 convicts in a murder case filed 18 years ago.

The fast-track court of judge Ram Vinod Singh sentenced the 11, all residents of Nahalpur village under the Parasbigha police station area, for killing Sogni Bind on January 1, 2000.


According to the FIR lodged by Sheikh Bind, one of the brothers of the victim, he and Sogni Bind, along with another sibling Ujna Bind and his wife Seetapati Devi, were attacked with bricks and stones by the convicts over a dispute.

All the four were seriously injured in the attack and Sogni, who was referred to the PMCH hospital in Patna, succumbed to his injuries subsequently.  PTI
