Mumbai Bus Accident Latest News: A tragic accident occurred on Monday night in Kurla West, Mumbai, when a BEST bus lost control, leaving four people dead and 25 injured. The incident took place on SG Barve Marg as the bus, en route to Andheri, rammed into pedestrians and vehicles over a 100-meter stretch before crashing into the compound wall of the Solomon Building.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported that the bus collided with 30-40 vehicles before striking an RCC column. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Ganesh Gawde, the injured were rushed to hospitals, including BMC-run Bhabha Hospital and Sion Hospital, for treatment.
Dr. Padmashri Ahire from Bhabha Hospital confirmed that 25 injured individuals were brought in, with two declared dead on arrival and one succumbing to injuries later.
Shiv Sena MLA Dilip Lande stated that brake failure caused the driver to panic and accidentally press the accelerator, increasing the speed and leading to the crash. The driver is in police custody, and an investigation is underway.
