PM Modi flags off 3 Vande Bharat Express trains in Bengaluru, Karnataka Latest News
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, August 10, flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains at KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
These included trains from Bengaluru to Belagavi, Amritsar to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune.
Prime Minister arrived in the city the same day and was received by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, CM Siddaramaiah, former CM and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa, and other leaders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with children after flagging off 3 Vande Bharat Express trains at KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru. He is also scheduled to flag off the Yellow line of the Bangalore metro and undertake a metro ride from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Electronic City metro station today.
According to ANI, the Yellow line from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra of Bangalore is part of the Metro Phase-2 project and is an over 19km long route with 16 stations. The project is worth about Rs 7,160 crore.
The opening of this yellow line will extend the operational metro network in Bengaluru to over 96km.
Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra, calling the inauguration of the new yellow line metro a “dream come true” for the public, told ANI that the project will benefit more than eight lakh people in Bengaluru’s southern districts.
Prime is also set to lay the foundation stone of the Bangalore Metro Phase 3 project worth Rs 15,610 crore. The project will cover a total route length of 44km with 31 elevated stations.
