He further said Devanahalli, Karnataka, is becoming a major iPhone manufacturing hub, adding, “India has become the top smartphone supplier to the USA. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, also speaking at the event, stated that “Bangalore will have the second-best metro network after Delhi."
On a lighter note, pointing at the congested, infamous traffic of the city, Khattar said, "People jokingly say that if someone from Bengaluru drops someone else at the airport, by the time the second person reaches Delhi or Mumbai, the first person would not be able to reach home. We accepted this challenge under the leadership of the Prime Minister. There are more plans in the pipeline... In the coming years, Bangalore will have the second-best metro network after Delhi."
Karnataka Dy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar felicitated PM Narendra Modi during the 'Next-Gen Mobility for a Next-Gen City' programme.
