This marks a significant comeback for the saffron party, which last governed Delhi in 1998.

Delhi Assembly Election Result 2025 Latest News Today:  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form the government in Delhi after 27 years, leading in more than 40 seats of the 70 Assembly constituencies.

The BJP’s campaign, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was built around the slogan "Delhi Chali Modi Ke Sath" and focused on a vision for the capital's development over the next five years. This marks a significant comeback for the saffron party, which last governed Delhi in 1998.

Trailing behind, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading in less than 30 constituencies, falling short of the majority required for a third consecutive term. Once lauded for its anti-corruption stance, AAP faced allegations of corruption during its tenure, with several leaders battling legal troubles and jail time.

Meanwhile, the Congress, which governed Delhi for 15 years between 1998 and 2013, appears set to record its third consecutive electoral defeat in the national capital, failing to secure a single seat.

The results could mark the end of AAP's political dominance in Delhi, which saw the party win a historic 67 seats in 2015 and 62 in 2020.

Delhi witnessed an intense triangular contest among the BJP, AAP, and Congress. The elections, held on February 5, saw a voter turnout of 60.54%, with 1.55 crore eligible voters deciding the capital’s future.
