Bageshwar Dham Tent Collapses Was Due to Rain, Cancels All Events for Two Days Latest News: Bageshwar Dham seer Acharya Dhirendra Shastri on Friday stated that the tent collapse incident that occurred a day earlier was due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, and that no one had any control over the situation.
Speaking to ANI, Dhirendra Shastri said, "Due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, this incident happened... and all the programs have been cancelled... Whatever happened yesterday, no one has any control over it..."
All scheduled programs have reportedly been cancelled for two days following the death of a man from Ayodhya and injuries to eight others after a waterproof tent collapsed due to strong winds and heavy rain around 7:30 am on Thursday in Garha village, located in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Shyamlal Kaushal (50). His son-in-law, Rajesh Kaushal, a resident of Chauri Sikandarpur in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti district, confirmed the death to PTI.
According to an India TV report, Shyamlal died after being struck on the head by a metal frame from the tent structure during the collapse.
The deceased, along with his family members, had arrived at Bageshwar Dham by car on Wednesday night. They had come to seek blessings from Dhirendra Shastri ahead of his birthday on Friday. The family had reached the venue at around 7:30 am on Thursday when the incident occurred.
