The Punjab School Education Department has successfully completed the first phase of Punjab Achievement Survey (PAS).

Chandigarh: The Punjab School Education Department has successfully completed the first phase of Punjab Achievement Survey (PAS).

This online survey has been conducted to assess the learning outcomes of students in government and government aided schools. The survey has to be conducted in three phases.

Vijay Inder SinglaVijay Inder SinglaAccording to a spokesperson of the school education department, the survey was commenced on September 21 under the direction of Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla and the first phase ended successfully today on October 3.

The students participated with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the teachers went door to door to motivate the students to join the survey.

According to the spokesperson, after the completion of the first phase, the teachers will now analyze the outcomes of the survey. After this, the weak points in this process will be addressed.

According to the spokesperson, the survey would enhance the students’ understanding of competitive examinations and will lead to a qualitative change in education.

He said that during this time most of the questions have been asked in an objective type, which would sharp the thinking ability of the students. In addition, it will also improve the  skills of the students, and will be very useful for their future.

This survey has been conducted on the students of class I to XII. The first paper was conducted on September 21 and had been running for about two weeks.

For the first class students, 10 questions were asked while for the second to fifth class 15 questions were asked for each subject. Each of these questions was of 2 marks. According to the spokesperson, there were 20 questions in each paper for the students of class VI to XII.
