BJP alliance got 37 seats in Nagaland and 33 seats in Tripura.

NEW-DELHI: The Results of Tripura and Nagaland in the assembly elections of three North East states are out. BJP has got majority in both the states. BJP alliance got 37 seats in Nagaland and 33 seats in Tripura. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma's NPP has emerged as the single largest party in Meghalaya. Only 26 seats have come to NPP's account. Post-voting exit polls had predicted a majority for the BJP alliance in Tripura-Nagaland.

Meghalaya was expected to have a trident assembly. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma tweeted that Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma called Home Minister Amit Shah and sought his help in forming the government. After the results of the Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the BJP headquarters in Delhi - Fearing our victory, the opponents say 'Die Modi' but my countrymen say 'Don't Go Modi'. Taking a jibe, the Prime Minister asked the workers whether after the North-East results, the news of EVM misuse started appearing on TV or not.

PM Modi said, "We are witnessing the Northeast moving in a new direction. It is not only a symbol of ending the distances of hearts, but also a symbol of new thinking. Now the North East is neither far from Delhi nor far from the heart. It's time to make history. I see a time of prosperity and growth for the North East."
