According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the invitation comes in the wake of the unavailability of professional trainers or coaches within the department, leading to the underutilization of sports infrastructure available in the schools.

With this collaboration between the Chandigarh Education Department and various well-recognized sports associations, students in different schools within the UT will be provided training by qualified trainers, and equipment will also be supplied.

A proposal regarding this is expected to be submitted by May 29, as per the Hindustan Times report. UT Director of School Education Harsuhinderpal Singh Brar stated that this collaboration aligns with the vision of UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria to promote sports in the city and work towards a drug-free Chandigarh.
