Copra Rajapur Mumbai recovered smartly at the spices market here today following renewed demand from stockists and retailers. On the other hand, copra office Alappuzha and copra office Kozhikode slipped owing to sluggish demand from stockists and retailers. Meanwhile, rest of the spices ruled steady in the absence of any major buying activities. Copra Rajapur Mumbai rose by Rs 800 per quintal to Rs 21,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 20,200.

However, copra office Alappuzha and copra office Kozhikode declined by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 12,700 and Rs 12,600 as against Rs 12,900 and Rs 12,800, respectively. Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets): 

Black pepper (per kg) 370/430 (370/430), ginger unbleached (per kg) 160 (160), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 12,700 (12,900), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 12,600 (12,800), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 21,000 (20,200), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 15,600 (15,600).
