New Delhi: The rising price of petrol and diesel continues as state-owned oil marketing company (HPCL, BPCL, IOC) has hiked petrol and diesel prices for the 11th consecutive day. In the national capital, petrol has gone upto Rs 77.28 a litre on Wednesday.
The price of diesel has gone up to Rs 75.79 per litre. Meanwhile, petrol prices have been hiked by 53 paise and diesel by 60 paise. In 11 days, petrol has gone up by Rs 6 per litre and diesel by Rs 6.40 per litre.
Petrol and Diesel price hikedEnergy experts said that demand for petrol and diesel has declined across the country during the lockdown. As a result, government revenues have declined.
Therefore, the government has increased its income by raising taxes because at present direct and indirect taxes have reduced the revenue of the government.
