Price of domestic LPG cylinders remained unchanged.

LPG Cylinder Price Hike News Today: In a major setback to the people of the country, right ahead of the festive month, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 100 in various locations across the country.

It is pertinent to mention that this is the second price hike for commercial LPG cylinders in the last two months. The latest hike has come into effect from November 1, 2023.

While the price of commercial LPG cylinders have been increased, the price of domestic LPG cylinders, which are utilized in households, remained unchanged.

Following the recent LPG Commercial Cylinder price hike, a 19 kg LPG cylinder will cost at Rs 1,833 in Delhi while in other major cities, the cost for the same is Rs 1,943 in Kolkata, Rs 1,785 in Mumbai, Rs 1,914.50 in Bengaluru, and Rs 1,999.50 in Chennai, respectively.

On the other hand, the cost of domestic LPG cylinders, primarily used for households, in Kolkata is being available for Rs 929, Rs 902.5 in Mumbai, and Rs 918.5 in Chennai.

Likewise, a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder is being available at Rs 903 in Delhi. Earlier on October 4, the Union cabinet had given a nod to the hike in cooking gas subsidy, increasing it from Rs 200 to Rs 300 per cylinder for over 96 million low-income households. 

The Union Government's move to increase subsidies came after its approval to expand the PM Ujjwala Yojana scheme in an order to increase the total number of beneficiaries to 103.5 million within the next three years.
