RJD-Congress Announces 'Chakka Jam' on July 9 in Bihar Against ‘Murder of Democracy’

Bihar Chakka Jam on July 9 Latest  News Updates: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress party have jointly called for a Bihar Bandh and 'Chakka Jam' (road blockade) on July 9, alleging a "murder of democracy" and "voter fraud" under the Modi government and the Election Commission.

A joint press conference was held today in Patna, led by Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee President Rajesh Kumar, Leader of the Congress Legislative Party in the Assembly Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan, and AICC Media Coordinator Abhay Dubey.

Also present at the press conference were Leader of the Congress Legislative Party in the Legislative Council Dr. Madan Mohan Jha, AICC In-Charge Secretary Sushil Pasi, Chairman of the State Congress Media Department Rajesh Rathore, State Congress Treasurer Jitendra Gupta, and other senior leaders.

Speaking to ANI, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan said, “The Bihar Bandh has been announced because the Election Commission, an independent constitutional body, is allegedly working hand in glove with the BJP-led central government. They are not just aligned, but also indulging in foul play. It seems they should set up their office right next to the BJP headquarters.”

Referring to the ongoing voter enrollment process in Bihar, he added, “It is unrealistic to count and enroll 8 crore people in just one month. This is a complete farce. The Mahagathbandhan will hold a Chakka Jam across Bihar. We appeal to the people to rise against this injustice. Rahul Gandhi will also participate in this movement.”

Meanwhile, Congress leader and MLA Ramesh Chennithala alleged, “The Election Commission is clearly working in favour of the BJP. In Bihar alone, around 2 crore new voters have been added without transparency. We will take this matter to court. It is crucial to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.”

The Bihar Bandh is expected to witness large-scale participation by workers and supporters of the Mahagathbandhan, comprising the RJD, Congress, and other allied parties.
