Raj Kushwaha Murder Case, Sonam Raghuvanshi, Meghalaya Missing Couple Latest News: In a major development in the high-profile case of a missing honeymooning couple from Indore, Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has confirmed a breakthrough. After weeks of intensive investigation, four individuals have been arrested, and Sonam Raghuvanshi—previously reported missing—has voluntarily surrendered in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking at a press briefing, Tynsong stated, “Meghalaya Police is pleased to announce a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the recent case of the disappearance of a honeymooning couple from Indore who went missing in the East Khasi Hills district in May.”
Among those apprehended are two suspects from Indore, one from Latifpur, Uttar Pradesh, and another whose identity is currently being verified. The arrests are the result of coordinated efforts between law enforcement agencies across several states, including the Meghalaya Police Special Investigation Team (SIT), SDRF, NDRF, and local intelligence units.
Sonam Raghuvanshi, who had disappeared with her husband Raja during their honeymoon, surrendered herself to the UP Police. She is currently in safe custody, and procedures for her transit and formal statement are underway.
Authorities praised the tireless efforts of the investigation team, who overcame “geographical and logistical challenges and repeated public and media scrutiny.”
The circumstances of Raja Raghuvanshi’s whereabouts remain unclear. Meghalaya Police have not issued an update on his status, and investigations are ongoing.
