PM Narendra Modi Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday announced the launch of rooftop solar power scheme for free electricity – PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. PM Modi wants to encourage people to install solar panels on rooftops.
The project, with an investment of over Rs 75,000 crore, aims to light 1 crore homes by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month. From actual subsidies, which will be given directly into people's bank accounts, to deeply concessional bank loans, the central government will ensure that there is no cost burden on people.
