Meteorological Department on Thursday issued a yellow alert of both heatwave and thunderstorm

Punjab Heatwave, Weather and Rainfall Update Latest News: While the people of the North India are facing severe heatwave in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, the India Meteorological Department on Thursday issued a new media bulletin, predicting rainfall in several districts of the state. 

According to information, the India Meteorological Department on Thursday issued a yellow alert of both heatwave and thunderstorm along with lightning in all districts of Punjab, except Ludhiana and Barnala where orange alert has been issued.

The districts where thunderstorm and lightning are predicted include Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Firozpure, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, and Mansa. 

However, the prediction for rainfall has only been made for June 14 because the IMD has issued a yellow and orange in Punjab from June 15-17.
