Kullu: Bhuvneshwari (14), a resident of the Ramshila area of Kullu town, had brought laurels to the valley by becoming member of a group of students who made a weather balloon and successfully launched it from NASA recently.

A group of 34 students from a school in Solan were selected to go to NASA. Her mother Renuka said she was the group leader. Her achievements provided her the opportunity to visit NASA for one year. Renuka said Bhuvneshwari had made the entire valley proud by becoming the first girl from the district to perform an experiment at NASA.

Bhuvneshwari is the daughter of Lahaul and Spiti MLA Ravi Thakur and her mother is BDC member from the Neuli panchayat. Her mother said she would return on July 5 from the US and they would first visit the Bhekali Mata temple to pay obeisance.
