Four killed in HRTC building collapse

Shimla: Four persons were killed and six injured when a three-storeyed building of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) at the Theog Bus Stand collapsed this morning following heavy rain.

Shimla: Four persons were killed and six injured when a three-storeyed building of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) at the Theog Bus Stand collapsed this morning following heavy rain.

The mishap took place around 1 pm following very heavy rain since last night. Officials confirmed that four persons had died while six others injured. They had been shifted to hospital. While the bodies were extricated from the debris, only one could be identified.

Deputy Commissioner Rohan Chand Thakur, who was on the spot, said the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) had been called to look for anyone else buried in the building rubble. “Those who died include Roshan Lal (49), bus stand in-charge, while three bodies are yet to be identified,” he said.
