Sonepat: Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain today said that an inquiry would be held into the death of hockey player Jyoti Gupta. The minister also met the bereaved family at their residence in Kalupur village.

Sonepat: Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain today said that an inquiry would be held into the death of hockey player Jyoti Gupta. The minister also met the bereaved family at their residence in Kalupur village.

Kavita Jain also spoke to Kamaldeep Goyal, SP, Railways, on the phone and asked him to investigate circumstances leading to the death of the victim. The SP reportedly assured the minister that the case was being investigated from all angles. She termed Jyoti’s death a great for the state and assured all possible help to the family.

The minister was accompanied by BJP’s state media head Rajiv Jain, who said that Jyoti was offered a job in the Northern Railway and there appeared to be a conspiracy behind her death.

A team of the Akhil Bhartiya Janwadi Mahila Samiti led by Jagmati Sangwan, former national general secretary and Bheem Awardee and Savita, state secretary, also met the bereaved family and demanded inquiry into the incident.
