The CM laid the foundation stones of the master periperhal road from Neelam Chowk to Bodh Vihar in the NIT, sewerage network in Dayalbagh-Lakad Vihar area, ITI building in Sector 18 and a sports facility centre in Sector 12.

Khattar said for regularisation, residents of the unauthorised colonies would have to pay an amount of Rs 1,250 per square metre as development charge so that the basic amenities could be provided in such colonies. He said the work would start as soon as 50 per cent of the residents would pay the development charge. Such money would be deposited in an escrow account which would be maintained by the authorities concerned to implement the scheme, he said.

While listening to public grievances earlier, the CM said that he had asked officials to chalk out a plan to provide proper power supply to villages located in the vicinity of the Yamuna river bank dividing the state and the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. He said measures were required to be taken to ensure supply to all villages of Haryana which fall across the Yamuna from the UP Government and vice versa as the river keeps changing its course each year. On revival of the Badkhal Lake, the CM said a survey was being conducted to decide the measures to ensure water supply to the lake. The revival project of the lake was very much on priorities of the government, he added.

On effective implementation of the Real Estate Regulation and Development Act (RERA), he said the regulations would be effective within two months. While panchayats would be given more financial powers, special focus would be laid on cleanliness, drainage and removal of encroachments, he said.
