Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) initiative has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity. This honor not only highlights India's sustainable farming progress but also places Andhra Pradesh on the global map for its pioneering efforts in eco-friendly agriculture.
The award is instituted by the Portugal-based Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (CGF). The award is for the Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity. It is presented annually to individuals and organizations making substantial contributions to Global food security, Climate resilience, and Ecosystem protection.
The 181 nominations were received from 117 nationalities and The jury was chaired by Dr. Angela Merkel, former German Chancellor.
