Haryana Farmers News: The Haryana Government has successfully procured more than 69,646 metric tons of paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) despite the ongoing strike by rice millers in Haryana and Punjab. The procurement process is running smoothly, with government agencies ensuring that the strike does not adversely impact farmers.
A spokesperson from the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department reported that a total of 2,96,211 metric tons of paddy have arrived at 241 mandis (markets) across the state.
As of today, government agencies have purchased 69,646 metric tons of paddy with moisture content of up to 17%. Out of this total, 5,267 metric tons have already been lifted. The government is ensuring timely payments to farmers, with Rs. 3 crore directly transferred to the bank accounts of over 7,276 farmers.
