Kangana Ranaut Film Emergency Controversy: In a major development, a petition has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking to stop the release of Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film 'Emergency'. The petition was submitted by Advocate Iman Singh Khara, who has raised concerns over the portrayal of Sikhs in the movie.
Khara claimed that the film presented Sikhs in a negative way which has sparked concerns within the community. The petition is expected to be heard in the coming days. Notably, Khara is also the lawyer representing jailed MP Amritpal Singh, who is currently detained in Dibrugarh jail, Assam.
In addition to the legal action, protests have erupted outside a theater in Bathinda, where Sikhs have been demanding a ban on the film. This comes after actress Kangana Ranaut was reportedly threatened by Vicky Thomas Masih.

The controversy surrounding the film began when Punjab's independent MP, Sarbjit Singh Khalsa, objected to the trailer's depiction of Sikhs. He accused the film of portraying Sikhs in a derogatory manner and has called on the central government to prevent its release.
Khalsa expressed his concerns, stating, "There are reports that Sikhs are shown in a negative light in the film 'Emergency', which could potentially disrupt peace and law and order in society."
