People are wondering who is Anasuya Sengupta, the 1st Indian Actress to win Best Actress at Cannes Film Festival 2024.

Who is Anasuya Sengupta 1st Indian Actress to win Best Actress at Cannes 2024? Anasuya has made the entire nation proud after becoming the first Indian actress to win the Best Actress award at Film Festival 2024. Interestingly, she never initially planned on pursuing acting as a career.

In the meanwhile, a lot of people are wondering who is Anasuya Sengupta, the 1st Indian Actress to win Best Actress at Cannes Film Festival 2024.

Who is Anasuya Sengupta?

She was born in Kolkata and graduated with an English literature degree from Jadavpur University. Initially, she wanted to explore journalism but her journey took an unexpected turn.

Anasuya started her career with a supporting role in Anjan Dutta's 2009 film 'Madly Bangalee' after which she started theatre before moving to Mumbai in 2013. In Mumbai, she worked as a production designer in the initial stage of her career. Despite her success, Anasuya felt claustrophobic in Mumbai and started exploring.

It may be recalled that Sengupta also won the award for her gritty role in Bulgarian director Constantin Bojanov’s film, ‘The Shameless’. The film also featured well-known actress Mita Vashist on its star cast.
