Fawad Khan’s Film ‘Abir Gulaal’ be Barred from Release in India Following Pahalgam Terror Attack, latest entertainment:
The film Abir Gulaal, starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, will not be allowed to release in India, according to reports on Thursday citing sources in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The development comes in the aftermath of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, primarily tourists.
Abir Gulaal also features Indian actress Vaani Kapoor alongside Fawad Khan, who was set to make a Bollywood comeback after nearly a decade.
Reacting to the tragedy, Fawad Khan, known for his role in Zindagi Gulzar Hai, shared a statement,
"Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time."
His remarks came shortly after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reiterated its call for a total ban on Pakistani artists in Indian cinema and entertainment.
"In light of the recent attack in Pahalgam, FWICE is once again compelled to issue a blanket boycott on all Pakistani artists, singers, and technicians participating in any Indian film or entertainment projects. This includes performances or collaborations occurring anywhere in the world," the federation said in an official statement.
The I&B Ministry’s move and FWICE’s stance reflect growing public sentiment and national outrage following the attack.
