Bollywood celebrities have condemned Tuesday’s terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives and shook the nation. In the aftermath, protests were held across the Union Territory, and a complete shutdown was observed in Srinagar and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir—sending a clear message that Kashmir does not tolerate killings and terrorism.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, condoling the families of those killed in the attack, posted on his X handle, “Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences. May we as a Nation stand united, strong, and get justice against this heinous act.”
Actress Anushka Sharma, in her Instagram story, wrote, “Heartbroken to hear about the cold-blooded terror attack on innocent people in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Heartfelt prayers and condolences to their families. This is a heinous attack that will never be forgotten.”
Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar also shared his grief, writing with a broken heart emoji, “This is heartbreaking. Prayers to the families and loved ones of the innocent lives lost in this heinous attack.”
Actress Preity Zinta, in a strongly worded statement, expressed, “Shocked & saddened by the cowardly terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. May the departed rest in peace. Om Shanti.”

The attack targeted tourists in the Baisaran meadows, popularly known as “Mini Switzerland.” Among the deceased, six were from Maharashtra, and a local pony operator was also killed while bravely attempting to snatch a rifle from one of the attackers.
The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow group of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
