Actor Found Guilty of Drunk Driving and Hit-and-Run Incident from 2018
MUMBAI: Dilip Tahil, the distinguished senior actor from Bollywood, has been sentenced to a two-month jail term in a case dating back to 2018. The charges stemmed from an incident in which Tahil was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and colliding with an auto-rickshaw, subsequently attempting to flee the scene.
The Incident unfolded five years ago, and it was reported that Dilip Tahil was behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred. Despite his efforts to escape, a traffic jam thwarted his getaway. He was apprehended and taken to the Khar police station, where it was evident that he was inebriated.
Following this evidence, the actor has now been found guilty in a magistrate's court, resulting in a two-month jail sentence. Earlier reports had indicated that, in an attempt to evade the scene after the accident, Tahil had attempted to leave the site. However, due to the devotion of Lord Ganesha, he found himself trapped in a crowd, and the onlookers intervened.
A scuffle ensued when they tried to extricate him from his vehicle, and an inspector from Mumbai's Khar police station reported that Dilip Tahil had initially refused to provide a blood sample for testing. Subsequently, the police conducted a medical examination of the three accident victims, and Tahil was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving. He was later released on bail. Notably, Dilip Tahil is a well-known figure in the world of Bollywood, having featured in prominent films such as 'Baazigar,' 'Ishq,' and 'Race.'
