Several actors have become victims of MMS viral video leaks or doctored videos.
MMS Viral Video Leak: Oviya Helen is the latest actor to fall victim to a private video leak scandal, but she is far from the first in the entertainment industry to face such an ordeal. Prior to Oviya Helen, Mona Singh, Radhika Apte, Shahid Kapoor, Riya Sena, and Akshara Singh have also become victims of MMS viral video leaks or doctored videos.
Mona Singh
In March 2013, an explicit MMS clip allegedly featuring Mona Singh surfaced online, causing a stir. However, Mona quickly clarified that the video was morphed and filed a police complaint against unidentified perpetrators. In an interview with Hindustan Times, she called the act "disgraceful," adding, "If this can happen to me, it can happen to any innocent girl. I’m glad that as a celebrity, I have a voice to address it, but what about others?"
Radhika Apte
Radhika Apte faced severe trolling after a nude clip from her film 'Parched' circulated online. Although it was part of her work, Radhika clarified that the viral scene wasn’t her. Speaking to Grazia, she shared how the incident deeply affected her: "I was trolled and couldn’t leave my house for four days—not because of the media but because my driver, watchman, and others started recognizing me from the images."
Shahid Kapoor
At 24, Shahid Kapoor became the subject of a leaked intimate video featuring him and his then-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor Khan. Though the couple never publicly addressed it at the time, Shahid opened up about the invasion of privacy in 2023, telling Mid-Day, "I felt violated and couldn’t protect myself. It was a tough experience, especially at that age."
Riya Sen
Riya Sen’s career was derailed when a private video of her and boyfriend Ashmit Patel leaked online. Riya later accused Ashmit of betraying her trust, telling Hindustan Times, "I believe Ashmit conspired with the crew of our film 'Rokda' to violate my privacy, which caused me immense distress."
Akshara Singh
Bhojpuri actor Akshara Singh was at the center of controversy after an intimate video, allegedly showing her, surfaced. However, Akshara dismissed the claims, calling the video morphed. Speaking to Etimes, she said, "Whoever is behind this, I don’t care. I haven’t even watched the video, and it doesn’t bother me. I won’t let such a cheap act affect me."
These incidents highlight the darker side of fame, where actors often become victims of digital exploitation, facing public scrutiny and emotional trauma.
